Festivals

In addition to the usual weekly pattern of worship, we mark the Christian festivals.

Advent and Christmas

Advent Sunday: 

Advent 2: 

Advent 3: 

Advent 4: Traditional service of Lessons and Carols by candle light with St Marks Singer followed by refreshments

 

Christmas Eve: St Marks

Christmas Worship for the whole family at 4.00pm 

Midnight Communion at 11.00pm and is by candle light


Christmas Day:  Family Eucharist at 9.00am - All Saints followed by mulled wine & mince pies


Lent, Holy Week and Easter

Our worship pattern during this season is planned afresh every year, but always includes

Ash Wednesday: 10.00am St MarksHoly Communion with Imposition of Ashes

Palm Sunday:  9.45am Procession of palms around boundary of St Marks followed by enactment of the Passion
                          6.00pm St Marks Singers - Devotional music

Maundy Thursday: 7.30pm St Marks - A Eucharist of the Last Supper with washing of feet

Good Friday: 9.00am 1½ mile Procession of the Cross from All Saints to St Marks. This is followed by the Good Friday Liturgy starting at 11.00am

Easter Sunday: 6.00am Ceremony of Light at dawn in the churchyard at All Saints followed by the Eucharist

                           9.45am Family Eucharist at St Mark

                           6.00pm All Saints - Evensong

Ascension Day: 7.30pm St Marks - The Eucharist

Harvest Festival (1st Sunday in October) 9.45am St Marks followed by Harvest Lunch in hall

All Souls (1st Sunday in November) : 4.00pm St Marks 'For those we love but see no longer' . A Service of Commemoration followed by refreshments in the hall
