St Mark’s Welcomes Bishop Karen
The Bishop of Sherborne, the Rt Rev Karen Gorham presided and preached at the 9.45 Eucharist on Sunday 8th October. A large congregation had gathered and witnessed Bishop Karen’s licensing of the Rev Sheila Thomas as Associate Priest in the Parish of West Parley.
Ralph Hebditch led the choir which beautifuly sang a psalm and an anthem. The service was followed by refreshments and a celebration cake which was made by Jean Steele.
Sheila was presented with flowers and on behalf of the church community the Rev Charles Booth, Rector, presented her with an academic hood from STETS, Sheila’s ministerial training scheme for church ministers, based in Salisbury at the time of her ordination as priest in 2010.
